In the meantime, Keila has learned how to walk, and talk, her 1 year birthday has come and gone. We had a Hello Kitty themed party for her. Many of her baby friends came as well as a few of our friends. Keila received many gifts not only from her party guests but also from her grandparents in Japan, relatives in New York & other friends who couldnt make it. She had a great time seeing everybody at her party. It was such a hot day for September - a record breaking 90 degrees, so everyone stayed in and enjoyed the AC.

Here are some pictures of Keila going through all of her lovely presents the next morning! Clearly she is very happy!
Keila loves fall, she enjoys looking at all of the orange, red & yellow leaves. She loves pumpkins, scarecrows and all of the other random decorations that come with this time of the year. She points to the pumpkins and says, "DADA" in fact, everything is "DADA" except food of course is "MAMA."
Keila celebrated her second Halloween as the worlds cutest flower and Ahora from Star Trak. I had purchased her flower costume back in May and got a great deal on it, and Keila's auntie Somer made her the Star Trek outfit to match with Kai & Jacob's. She went trick or treating with her friends and also went to a Halloween party. She was very generous with all of the candy she received - 100% of the proceeds went to Yohei and I, thank you Keila! Here are some pictures of Keila at the pumpkin patch and trick or treating.
Shortly after Halloween Keila (and I) got our first official colds of the season, actually this is the first time Keila has ever really been sick. She had a high fever and lots of はなみず I felt really bad for her because her nostrils are so small to begin with yet were so congested. We are both feeling a lot better now, although my allergies have been flaring up for some reason.
A couple of days ago, Yohei and I gave Keila her first haircut, no more baby mullet. My plan is to continue trimming the back until the sides catch up, then her hair will grow into a nice bob, and eventually be long, (or however she wants it). After her haircut she found her new favorite "toy" of the moment aka the diaper box. She made her way in and then signalled for Yohei to start pushing her around and had a blast. Here is the back view of her new haircut and her in the diaper box.
Keila still loves reading and now she reads outloud to me, she flips the pages and each page is, "DADA." It is so cute, I love her so much. Keila can also play soccer. Here is a video I made of her playing soccer.
