April 27, 2013 started out just like every other day. I woke up at 4am, went to the bathroom and thought maybe my water had broken. After having Keila I know when my water breaks it is not a dramatic gush like in the movies. What I experience is more along the lines of tiny drops, this continued on for 15 minutes so I called the hospital and was told to come in. Yohei and I dropped off Keila at my parents place and headed to the hospital. It was around 5:30am when the nurse confirmed I was already in labor. Here we are waiting for baby to come.
After my epidural, the babys heart rate went down, this was TERRIFYING. They rushed me into the operating room, pumped me full of drugs, and gave me a catheter. Once in the operating room, they listened for the baby's heart beat again just to be sure, and it was beating normally. I was so relieved that baby was OK but I was shaking so much from the experience. The nurse was very nice, she wrapped me in a bunch of thick blankets and I calmed down. Shortly after baby was born at 11am. He weighed 6lbs 11oz and was just perfect. Yohei and I had been discussing names for the past 6 months. After seeing baby we decided to name him Austin Hiroshi Fukuda.
Baby has nice strong lungs!
After Austin was all cleaned up we realized that he has blond hair. I don't know how this happened but he certainly is a cute little guy.
We had a lot of other visitors that day...
