Happy 2012!

Its hard to believe almost a year has gone by since we moved to Irvine. I remember the day well. We set our lease to begin Feb. 10, 2011. We moved in on Feb 11,2011. And now it is January 16. 2012. I know January will fly by, just like every other month does. Why does time fly by so fast once you have a baby?

We had such a great holiday season. We went up for Thanksgiving and was able to spend time with some of our lovely friends from up north. We also saw our grandparents and neighbors for Thanksgiving Dinner!

When we got home, we had a fun holiday get together with some new & old friends. We changed our apartment around to accomodate more people, everything worked out great.

Shortly after we had the highly anticipated Tanpopo Christmas party. Keila was so happy to see all of her friends but exhausted by the end. Since Keila goes to Tanpopo almost every day she participated in almost every song (4 out of 5). We were rushing to change her, running back and forth, socks in hand, headband on, etc!! It was all worth it, Keila looked adorable singing in all the costumes with her little friends. It was a good day.

On Christmas Eve we had a great dinner with Ryota & Miharu. We wanted to eat somewhere nice & special so we went to Kitayama, it was so good! And Ryota's Mom called in to pay for our dinner as a Christmas gift, what a nice surprise!

I only had one day off for Christmas, however my parents (Santa) and brother were nice enough to come down here to visit. They drove down on Christmas day and surprised us when we got home from Disney on Ice. According to my parents, Santa had come, and he sure did. There were tons of presents under the tree. Keila was so happy!

As you can see, Keila got a lot of great things! She got a lot of cute clothes, shoes, toys, books, a kitchen, a porcelin tea set, and a stroller. Yohei and I also got a couple of thing, one main thing... the X box with Kinect!! I've wanted it for so long and I'm so glad we got it. Dance Central 2 is so fun, and such a great work out!!!

The day after Christmas we went to the wild animal safari park. It was so warm in the afternoon (and packed). We probably left too late but made it on a couple of rides at least. It was cold but we were able to see a beautiful sunset.

We had such a lovely New Years Eve weekend. We went to the Clark home on New Years Eve and watched kouhaku. Then we went to the Goto house home New Years day for some delicious osechi ryouri, followed by the Okawa home for some more osechi :)

The next week we went to the Naota home for some more New Years celebrating and most recently had a mochi party.

I love mochi so much. I like to put chocolate inside of it, wrap it into a ball, and sit by myself on the couch and enjoy.

However, now it is time for me to go on a diet!!!

Other than eating a lot, we bought an annual pass to Disneyland and have been spending a lot of time at the park. Keila's favorite thing to do by far is meet and hug all the characters. The rides scare her (all except for its a small world and the merry go round). We were able to see the Shaw family and meet their new baby Ryse last weekend. He is so cute!

She still remembers her other good friends up north (of course). We are very excited for Valerie who just had her second baby and Somer who is pregnant. We are really looking forward to the next time we can see them.
