Well I finally have some time to do all of the things I have been putting off on my list of things to do. I took my 2nd out of 4 CPA exams, yesterday. I think I did fairly well. And good news, I passed the first one with an 83, what a relief! Now only 2 more. I am planning to take a week off before I resume studying. But since then, a lot has happened.
On April 26, Keila was baptised at the local church, St. Josephs, it was such a lovely ceremony and Keila wore the dress that I wore when I was baptised. She was so good when the priest poured the water over her and she looked like a little angel.

Here is a picture of everyone at the church.
Then we had a fun afterparty at my place. Lots of food and wine, and a special cake for Keila!
Here is a picture of Keila with the cake, it had a little baby angel on it because she is my little angel.
By the way, I have been keeping an excel spreadhsheet of Keila's advancements. Around this time she started standing in her crib. And now she stands everywhere. She can grab hold of railings, guide herself and walk a couple of steps before getting tired or off balance. She is really quite amazing, she doesnt look like she should be standing, in my eyes, she still looks like a baby. She is growing up too fast. She is also quite a "spitfire" as my Mom would say. She has a large personality and I can tell when she is fake crying, all in all she really just loves attention, and food. As long as the food and attention keep coming, she is really happy but the moment I leave her in the crib or play pen by herself, she gets really upset, but not for too long. I love her so much, its so hard to walk away. Here is the log I have made.
12/13/2009 Keila rolls over
12/14/2009 Keila finds her thumb
1/23/2010 Keila grabs her toes
2/6/2010 Keila rolls over both ways
3/1/2010 Keila starts solids
3/20/2010 Keila crawls
4/2/2010 Keila sleeps in her crib (no more cosleeper)
4/25/2010 Keila can sit up by herself
5/4/2010 Keila can stand up in the crib by herself
5/11/2010 Keila can stand up anywhere by herself as long as there is support
Shortly after the baptism, Keila had a lot of visitors, my Aunt Betty and cousin Mary Beth came. And then Obaachan and Ojiichan Fukuda came for the first time to meet their first grandaughter. It was a short visit, but I'm happy they got to know eachother. Keila really enjoyed hanging out with them. We went shopping, visited my grandmother, and just did casual stuff at home.
Here is Keila with my Aunt Betty and cousin Mary Beth.
Here is Keila meeting her grandparents from Japan for the first time! What a great feeling.

Happy time with Grandpa!

We visited Keila's great grandmother as well.
Lots of shopping time.

Keila's happy time with Grandma!
Farewell dinner, we miss you!!
It was so nice having Yohei's family close again, even if it was for a short period of time. Too bad we don't all live close together. Maybe Yohei and I can make some sort of arrangement where we spend half of the year in Japan and half of the year in the U.S. That sounds グレト!
Right after Yohei's parents left, we all jetted off for New York. Keila loved the plane she slept for half of the time and the other half enjoyed exploring the area around her, touching the TV screen, etc. Initially I was sort of worried about the plane trip but knowing that Keila is so good on planes now makes me realize that I can take her anywhere.
We stayed with my Aunt Betty and Uncle John, (Aunt Betty returned from California a couple of days before we got to New York). Keila got to sleep in her cousin Sean's pack and play.

Keila met my cousin Joanna as well
Before the wedding, we visited Scranton, Yohei's old stomping grounds. Here is the stadium where he used to work with the Yankees.

We had dinner with Connie, Subaru, Stephanie and some of the Scranton Yankees including Igawa san, Soeda san, Mark Melancon & his wife Mary Catherine, Jaosn Hirsch, his wife Pamela and their 6 month old baby boy Brady.

Hi

Connie & Subaru

That night we drove to Allentown, PA because Emis wedding was the next day. We stayed at the Holiday Inn. It was really nice! The next morning we went to Emi's wedding. I was so happy to see her get married. She is a really sweet girl and her and Qasim have been together forever, they are such a cute couple. I remember the first time Emi met Qasim was at K-Mart and Emi was fairly new to the U.S. as an exchange student in Santa Barbara, one of the first things she said was, "Hey Katie- did you know all of the fine guys are in K-Mart?" And she was talking about Qasim, lol! I love Emi's sense of humor, she is so funny.
Here are some pictures from her wedding, omedetou Emi!

Here are some other pictures from the trip.
