About 10 of Austins little friends came, some family friends, and about 10 little farm animals from Happy Hooves OC including an orange clad pony! We had craft stations, plant your own carrots in milk cartons, make your own flower bouquets in mason jars, a baikin man pinata, and of course, ride the pony and pet the farm animals. In addition to some homemade side dishes, I ordered Japanese sandwiches and pizza for lunch, and we had an Anpanman cake.
These days birthday parties are way more extravagant then when I was growing up. Many people spend a lot of money on venues, caterers, etc, The kids have a great time, but a small voice inside of me wishes we could keep things simple, good old birthdays at the park.
I try to balance it out, I'll usually make all of my own decorations, find budget friendly crafts, use our house as the venue, then spend money on entertainment. Here are some pictures.

I can't believe the little guy is already 3!
