At 5 months baby Austin was baptized into the Catholic church. After we had a celebration for him at my parents home but he was too tired and fell asleep. He wore the same outfit that his cousin Sean wore for his baptism.
Also this month, Keila turned 4. Our good friend took some awesome pictures of the Rapunzel themed party. The album can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/kimonokoto/sets/72157637073174365/
Since I was on maternity leave I spent a lot of time planning this party. I wanted it to be budget friendly so I decided to do it at home. I had the girls make magic glitter wands and the boys decorate knight shields. In addition, the girls all got tiaras, rings and hair extensions while the boys each got a foam sword. I hired a princess to come and entertain the kids. I was worried the boys wouldn't be that into her so I hid some coin pouches around the front yard as a back up plan. Sure enough, the boys all opted for the "treasure hunt" after the princess was finished with story/song time while girls stayed for more princess time. In addition to the party props, the girls all took home princess socks, a princess spoon and a princess candy. The boys got the same except action hero themed. Overall I think the birthday party was a success, but next year I will probably have it at a venue. Entertaining kids is way more difficult then entertaining adults.
Random picture of happy baby Austin. He is truly a joy!
