Merry Christmas & Mary Beth & Mikes Wedding

This years Christmas Party Keila had a special part in her preschools performance, she played the Pianica which is like a piano but you have to blow into a whistle type thing while simultaneously tapping on the keys to create the sound.  She did an excellent job coordinating with the other 2 girls to play the tune "Away in the Manger."  It was so cute.

Look closely at the picture below, does something seem strange to you?  YES behind the children is Fujiyama Ichiban, the resident animation "super hero" of Orange County.  He was the surprise visitor at Keila's Christmas party.   Despite all good intentions he scared the heck out of Keila and friends; as you can see she looks very worried next to her friend Yuna chan.
 Good morning Keila, its Christmas!!
 YAY Santa came!

Keila made out well this Christmas, she received a playdough set, vanity, stuffed horse (that you can ride), baby dolls, dresses, puzzles, and clothes.  She was so happy that Santa came.  Soon after we boarded our flight to New York for Mary Beth & Mike's wedding.  It was such a great wedding, so much fun, dancing, food, a beautiful cake created by our cousin Joanna.  Keila also got to spend time with her cousin Sean.

New York was FREEZING!  Going out we came fully prepared with hats, mittens, ear muffs etc.  Keila looked so cute bundled up in her jacket and hat.
We decided to watch Mary Poppins in Times Square on New Years Eve.  I thought we would be fine since the show started at 2 and would end by 4.  I was so incredibly wrong.  What we encountered coming out of theatre may have erased all great memories of how amazing the show was. Both sides of the street were blocked off.  We had to push our way through a crowd of people jam packed together worse than the last train on the Yamanote line.  Keila lost her cupcake hat. This was a very sad day for me, I LOVED Keilas cupcake hat.  She received it as a present from her cousins (the Ichiriki family) in Japan.  I loved it because it made Keila look like a cupcake.  These pictures (and a few more from earlier days) are the only memory of the cupcake hat.  I guess we can be happy that we did not lose anything else.  The next morning we watched the news which showed all the trash being shoveled up by street cleaning mobiles.  I thought I may have seen a glimpse of the cupcake hat.. maybe not.

On to happier subjects, our friends Alto and Lisa from Japan were in New York at the same time. Also Emi & Qasim live in New York.  We had dinner with them and my stomach hurt after from laughing so hard.

Last but not least, it is Mochi Party time.  Happy New Years!
