4th of July!

Want to check in to write about our fun 4th of July weekend!
Yohei, Keila and I drove up north to celebrate in Fremont. Keila was able to see Kai and Jacob. It was so good to be reunited. It also feels like not too much has changed, in a sense that the babies still recognize each other and are able to pick up playing as usual. Keila is always super excited whenever I mention Kai or Jacob to her. She loves them so much.
Kai is Keila’s “challenge” he plays hard to get. She tries repeatedly to hug him but usually he runs the other way and pretends not to notice. It is definitely a silly and cute dynamic.
Jacob is very receptive to Keila’s hugs, he loves to give and receive them. Sometimes he is so excited to see Keila that he knocks her to the ground but she doesn’t mind at all, she loves getting trampled to the ground for a hug from Jacob.
Some other exciting things from this weekend, Keila saw her first set of fireworks and loved them; she kept saying, “kira, kira” and “ookii” or “wow.”
Not so exciting, Keila caught a cold and is at home today coughing with a fever. I feel so bad for her, her body is very warm but her demeanor is still the same. She woke up this morning and said, “ohayo” with a raspy voice, and then when I asked if she wanted breakfast, she said, “hai.” She has been lounging around all day and it is kind of nice in a sense that she is happy and calm.
One funny thing I forgot to mention, Keila absolutely loves natto! I saw her gobble down a half a package of natto with half of a rice bowl on Sunday morning. I was amazed. Out of all of the delicious yummy organic meals I make for her, even pizza or spaghetti, I have never seen her so happy and eager to eat any other food beside natto, oh and also cookies, she loves cookies but we try to limit those to special occasions.
